Anti-corruption activist Jackson Ude has accused Bala Bello, Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), of academic fraud. In a post on X (formerly Twitter) titled “BALA BELLO: THE MOST PADDED ACADEMIC FRAUD IN CBN!”, Ude alleged that Bello has misrepresented his academic qualifications.
Ude stated, “The Deputy Governor, Corporate, of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Bala Bello, is an academic fraud. He managed to obtain a Bachelor’s degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State, but has consistently lied about having an MBA from the same institution. Bello should provide the date he enrolled in the MBA program and the date he graduated. He should make his certificate public.”
Ude further claimed, “Not done with his academic fraud, Bello tells his friends and associates that he has a PhD. On his CBN profile, he lists a PhD as Honoris Causa from obscure and unknown universities, one of which is from the Republic of Benin, a haven for fake universities. Bello should disclose how much he paid for those Honoris Causa degrees.”
He continued, “Commonwealth University, where Bello allegedly bought another PhD Honoris Causa, was declared fake by the Federal Government during Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Bello has no Master’s degree, no PhD, yet he is busy sacking Masters and PhD holders from the CBN who obtained their positions through merit.”
Ude concluded his post by saying, “I will wait for Bello to respond before I consign him to the garbage bin!”
