See What Happened at the Ikoyi Club Easter Tennis Clinic for Children

Over 100 children are participating in this year’s annual Easter Holiday Tennis Clinic, which kicked off on Tuesday at the tennis courts of Ikoyi Club 1938.

The 2025 edition features boys and girls across four age categories—5 to 7, 8 to 10, 11 to 13, and 14 to 16—who are set to hone their skills and deepen their passion for the sport.

The clinic will run until Friday, with the grand finale tournament scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at the club.

Dr. Emeka Azinge, a parent of one of the young players, shared his excitement about his six-year-old daughter’s involvement:
“Tennis feels like a tradition in my family. I started playing around the same age when my father brought me to an academy just like this. It’s about fostering their interest and creating the right environment for them to grow through the sport.”

Chairman of the Tennis Section, Diran Famakinwa, expressed confidence in the preparations:
“All logistics have been put in place for both the clinic and the tournament. The participants can look forward to an exciting and rewarding experience.”
