Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has reportedly reached a personal agreement with Manchester United ahead of a possible summer transfer, according to Turkish journalist Serdar Çelikler.
Speaking on a podcast, Çelikler stated, “Victor Osimhen has reached an agreement with Manchester United. But negotiations with the club are still ongoing.”
Currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, Osimhen has enjoyed a prolific season, scoring 29 goals and contributing six assists in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Manchester United are prioritizing the signing of a top striker this summer, with Rasmus Hojlund struggling to impress—netting just three Premier League goals. New manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly looking to move the Danish forward on.
Although Osimhen and United have agreed on personal terms, discussions between the English club and Napoli over a final transfer fee are still underway. Osimhen’s release clause is set at €75 million (£63m), though Napoli may be open to negotiating a lower fee.
Juventus also remain interested in the Nigerian forward, but Napoli are reportedly unwilling to sell to a direct Serie A rival, putting United in a stronger position.
However, Osimhen’s desire to play Champions League football next season may impact the move, with United’s qualification still uncertain. The club is also monitoring alternative targets like Liam Delap and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Turkish journalist Ali Naci Küçük previously claimed that United have offered Osimhen a contract worth £660,000 per week before tax, a deal that would make him the highest-paid player at Old Trafford.
Galatasaray, who cover €6 million of his current €10–11 million net annual salary (with Napoli covering the rest), hope to keep Osimhen but are unlikely to meet his wage demands. The striker is reportedly seeking €15 million to remain in Istanbul.
Despite swirling speculation, Galatasaray’s vice-president Ibrahim Hatipoglu recently said, “Osimhen has not said he will leave. He mentioned Galatasaray will always be in his heart, even in a worst-case scenario.”
When asked about his future last week, Osimhen remained tight-lipped: “There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I’m enjoying my time here—both at the club and in life.”
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli at the start of the season and has since become one of the standout performers in Turkish football.
