Super Eagles captain and newly appointed General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, Ahmed Musa, has refuted widespread claims that he donated vehicles to players and officials following his new role with the club.

In a statement released via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, Musa described the reports as “entirely untrue” and cautioned the public, media houses, and social media users against spreading unverified information.

“It has come to my attention that false information is being circulated claiming that I distributed cars to players and officials following my appointment as General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club,” the statement read. “Spreading unverified news not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the club and its leadership.”

The football star emphasized that his current priority is to focus on rebuilding the team’s structure and ensuring discipline and success both on and off the pitch. He thanked fans for their continued support and urged them to rely on credible sources for information regarding the club.

Rumours had earlier surfaced online suggesting that Musa had gifted new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles to all members of the squad and management staff to celebrate his appointment.

Musa’s appointment as general manager of the club was officially announced by the Kano State government last Saturday. He resumed duties this week, marking a return to a club he had previously represented as a player.

The 31-year-old is widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished footballers and remains an influential figure both in domestic football and on the international stage.
