The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has raised the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, at its retail stations nationwide.

Checks by Kogitribune revealed that NNPCL outlets in Abuja have adjusted their pump prices from N890 to N955 per litre, marking a N65 increase. The price hike was observed at major stations, including those along Kubwa Expressway, Wuse, and other parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

Similar adjustments have also been implemented in NNPCL stations across Kogi and Nasarawa States, confirming a broader application of the new pricing structure.

The development comes on the heels of an earlier price adjustment by independent marketers, who raised their pump prices to between N950 and N971 per litre over the weekend. This followed an increase in the ex-depot price by Dangote Refinery, which moved from N820 to N858 per litre.

The price hike is expected to further intensify public concern as transportation costs and commodity prices continue to rise amid ongoing economic challenges.
