Ogbeh, who also served as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between 2001 and 2005, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, according to a statement from his family on Saturday.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Chief Audu Ogbeh,” the statement read. “He departed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and dedication to our nation and community. We are comforted by the many lives he touched and the example he set.”
The family expressed gratitude to friends, colleagues, and well-wishers for their prayers and support, while requesting privacy during their period of mourning. Funeral arrangements, they said, will be announced in due course.
Ogbeh was widely respected for his decades-long public service, particularly his contributions to Nigeria’s agricultural sector and his leadership within the PDP.
