According to details published on INEC’s official website, former Senate President David Mark has been confirmed as the National Chairman of the party. Also listed in the recognized executive lineup are:
- Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary
- Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer
- Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary
- Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser
The confirmation ends weeks of uncertainty following the coalition of opposition political leaders’ decision to adopt the ADC as their political platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.
A faction within the ADC had previously rejected the coalition’s move, insisting that figures such as David Mark and Aregbesola were not bona fide members of the party. They argued that the newly announced leaders had no legitimate claim to the ADC’s structures.
With INEC’s recognition, however, the Mark-led faction now stands as the authentic leadership of the ADC, a decision expected to reshape the dynamics of opposition politics ahead of 2027.
The development signals a major boost for the coalition forces rallying under the ADC umbrella, while posing a significant setback for the rival faction that had insisted on retaining control of the party.
