The SAN, whose letter was made available to reporters on Saturday, accused the CNA of deliberately frustrating the enforcement of court orders that affirmed Natasha as the duly elected Senator for Kogi Central Senatorial District.
According to the lawyer, the CNA’s delay in issuing the necessary documentation and facilitating her swearing-in constitutes a breach of constitutional duty and a direct affront to the judiciary.
“The National Assembly cannot operate in defiance of valid court judgments. The refusal to recognize and facilitate Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s resumption is not only contemptuous but also capable of attracting severe legal sanctions against the Clerk personally,” the SAN stated.
Court Judgments Ignored
It would be recalled that multiple court rulings, including a recent decision of the Court of Appeal, declared Natasha as the rightful winner of the senatorial election. Despite these rulings, her swearing-in has faced delays, raising concerns among her supporters about political interference.
The SAN stressed that any further refusal to act could lead to the filing of contempt proceedings against the CNA, alongside additional charges for dereliction of duty.

The controversy has fueled growing tension in Kogi Central, where constituents have repeatedly called for the immediate inauguration of Natasha, warning that continued delays could heighten political unrest.
