The meeting, chaired by former Senate President and ADC National Chairman, David Mark, was attended by top party figures including the National Secretary, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal; and former Edo State Governor, Professor Oserheimen Osunbor, among others.

Addressing members of the National Working Committee (NWC) before the session went private, Mark said the ADC was committed to breaking away from conventional politics driven by personal ambition rather than national interest.

He said the party’s vision was not merely to win power but to create a political legacy that would stand the test of time.

“We are not seeking power for its own sake; we are building a legacy. We are in a marathon, and we must compete and win — failure is not an option,” Mark stated.

The former Senate President assured that the ADC would grow into an institution “bigger than any personality, stronger than any moment” and become a model for people-focused governance.

He described the ADC as a pan-African, inclusive, and problem-solving movement that prioritizes the welfare of citizens — including retirees, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.

Mark emphasized that the party’s leadership was built on four non-negotiable pillars: character, competence, courage, and discipline.

He also highlighted the unity and commitment of the ADC’s conveners, whom he said had “freely chosen service over comfort” and were ready to make sacrifices for Nigeria’s democratic growth.

Mark concluded by urging members to remain steadfast, saying, “The road will be uphill, sacrifice will be demanded. Those threatened by democracy will resist it. Still, we advance — calmly, courageously, together as a formidable team.”
