The endorsement came on Tuesday during the 2025 Lagos APC Stakeholders’ Forum held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The meeting drew top political figures including Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his predecessors Babatunde Fashola (SAN) and Akinwunmi Ambode, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

Also present were members of the APC National and State Working Committees, lawmakers, council chairmen, appointees, and representatives of religious, traditional, youth, and women groups.

In his address, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Shotobi, moved a motion endorsing Tinubu for a second term, which was seconded by Obasa. “We endorse President Bola Tinubu to go for a second term. I so move,” Oba Shotobi declared.

Supporting the motion, Deputy Governor Hamzat stressed the importance of continuity, saying Tinubu’s administration had laid the foundation for economic reform and good governance.

“As we look toward the future, we must recognise the importance of continuity. Under Tinubu’s visionary leadership, we have witnessed courage, vision, and commitment to national transformation,” he said.

Hamzat praised Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda, which he described as a blueprint for inclusive and sustainable development across Lagos.

Former Governor Fashola (SAN), who delivered a lecture titled “Voter Apathy and the Sanctity of Election in Nigeria’s Budding Democracy”, urged APC members to mobilise voters and rekindle enthusiasm ahead of future elections.

Meanwhile, the APC Local Government Party Chairmen Forum (South-West Zone) also reaffirmed their support for Tinubu’s 2027 ambition during their quarterly meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The forum pledged massive grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for the president and reclaim Oyo and Osun States from the opposition.

Opposition parties, however, are reportedly intensifying merger talks ahead of 2027, with Labour Party’s Peter Obi faction calling for a united opposition to challenge Tinubu’s re-election bid.
