This development was announced on Tuesday through a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, President Tinubu forwarded a letter to the Senate, requesting the Upper Chamber to screen and confirm Dr. Doro as minister. His nomination is to fill the Plateau State ministerial slot left vacant following the election of Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July.

Before his elevation to the APC leadership, Yilwatda served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Dr. Doro brings over two decades of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

A highly accomplished professional, he holds degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA focused on IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice.

Dr. Doro is also an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with extensive frontline experience in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS), where he worked in urgent care, walk-in centres, general practice, and hospital settings.

Beyond his professional achievements, Doro has been actively involved in youth mentorship and social impact initiatives, both within the Nigerian diaspora and local communities.

If confirmed, he is expected to bring a wealth of experience and innovative leadership to President Tinubu’s cabinet.
