According to KogiTribune, NCAA officials on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, held a closed-door session in Abuja with Julie Edwards, a key figure in the incident, along with other crew members directly involved.

Confirming the development in a statement on his official X handle on Thursday, NCAA’s spokesperson, Michael Achimugu, said the Authority was deploying a multi-departmental team to ensure a comprehensive review.

“Yesterday in Abuja, the NCAA team met with Julie Edwards and other members of the crew involved in the Comfort Emanson incident as part of investigations into that event,” Achimugu wrote.

He further disclosed that the investigation involves the directorates of Aviation Security, Operations, Licensing, Training Standards, Legal, and Consumer Protection to guarantee a “proper conclusion.”

Emanson, who was also invited to appear before the Authority on Thursday, August 21, 2025, was expected to attend the session in the company of her legal counsel.

The incident, which gained traction after a viral video, showed Emanson being physically restrained by airline officials following an alleged assault on a flight attendant and a clash with airport staff during a Uyo–Lagos flight.

Her actions led to her arraignment before the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, where she was briefly remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre before regaining freedom after the intervention of the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who urged the airline to withdraw its complaint.

The NCAA assured the public that it remains committed to safety, professionalism, and consumer protection within Nigeria’s aviation industry, pledging that the probe would be handled with fairness and transparency.
