The one-day event, scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Lagbaja Hall, Nigerian Army Conference Centre and Suites, Asokoro, Abuja, is themed “Tax Clinic for Tax Clarity: Transitioning into NRS.”
According to the Executive Chairman of FIRS, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, the Tax Clinic is part of the Service’s effort to simplify tax processes, educate citizens, and encourage voluntary compliance as the country transitions into the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).
“Our goal is to simplify tax, not to complicate it,” Dr. Adedeji said. “This Tax Clinic brings the Service closer to the people — to listen, educate, and build mutual trust for better compliance.”
The event will feature panel sessions, presentations, and interactive service desks hosted by partner institutions such as the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Joint Tax Board (JTB), National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), among others.
Building on the success of the Lagos edition, which recorded high participation, the Abuja clinic is expected to attract even larger crowds. The first 400 registered participants will receive branded gifts, while the event will also be livestreamed on Zoom and YouTube for nationwide access.
Speaking on the upcoming edition, Special Adviser on Communications and Advocacy to the FIRS Chairman, Mr. Collins Osagie Omokaro, said the initiative reflects the Service’s renewed commitment to transparency and public engagement.
“Under Dr. Adedeji’s leadership, the Service has prioritized accessibility and empathy. The Tax Clinic is not just about compliance; it’s about connection,” he stated.
The FIRS continues to pursue its vision of “Simplifying Tax, Maximising Revenue,” through citizen-focused reforms and inclusive engagement strategies.
