In a statement on Thursday, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that Eze’s appointment follows the recent elevation of the Nigeria Police Force Medical Section into a full-fledged Directorate.
According to Hundeyin, the creation of the directorate and Eze’s appointment aim to enhance the quality and scope of healthcare delivery across police formations nationwide, ensuring improved medical services for officers and their families.
The statement further quoted Egbetokun as congratulating Eze on her historic appointment, urging her to leverage her clinical and administrative expertise to make the directorate a model of excellence in police healthcare.
Describing her as a seasoned professional, Hundeyin said, “Nkechi Eze is a distinguished clinician, dental surgeon, and administrator with over 27 years of service. Born in Umuahia, Abia State, and from Agbudu, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, AIG Eze holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Benin.”
Her career, which spans postings in Oyo, Ekiti, Rivers, FCT, and Lagos, has been marked by significant contributions to the welfare and health of police officers nationwide.
Egbetokun emphasized that the establishment of the Directorate of Force Medical Services reflects the Force’s commitment to investing in the well-being, morale, and productivity of its personnel — a crucial factor in maintaining operational efficiency.
