In a ruling delivered on Thursday, Justice James Omotosho held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had established a prima facie case against Nwabuoku, making it necessary for him to enter his defence.
Nwabuoku is facing prosecution over alleged money laundering offences involving approximately N868 million. The EFCC alleges that he engaged in illicit transactions during his tenure as the acting AGF.
The court’s ruling ensures that the trial will proceed, with Nwabuoku now required to respond formally to the charges.
