In a statement released on Sunday, representatives of the royal family said all traditional and legal requirements for the installation of the monarch had been completed, yet the formal coronation had remained stalled for months.
The family warned that the continued delay could undermine traditional institutions and disrupt peace in the community, calling on the state government and appropriate traditional councils to urgently step in and resolve the matter.
According to the family, the Oba-Elect was duly selected in line with custom and extant laws, adding that further postponement lacked justification.
They urged the authorities to act in the interest of peace, unity and respect for Yoruba traditional heritage.
