The anti-graft agency disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by its spokesperson, Mr. John Odey. According to the statement, the petition was submitted earlier in the day through Dangote’s legal representative.

“The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) confirms that it received a formal petition today, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer. The petition is against the CEO of the NMDPRA, Alhaji Farouk Ahmed,” the statement read.

The commission said the petition would be subjected to due investigative procedures in line with its mandate.

In the petition, Dangote accused the NMDPRA boss of corruption, abuse of office, and misuse of public funds. Among the allegations is a claim that Farouk Ahmed spent more than $7 million in public funds on the education of his four children at elite schools in Switzerland.

According to Dangote, the school fees were allegedly paid upfront for a period of up to six years, without evidence of lawful sources of income to justify such expenditure.

The petition further alleges that the spending constitutes embezzlement, diversion of public funds, and abuse of office, urging the ICPC to conduct a thorough investigation and prosecute the NMDPRA CEO if found culpable.

Dangote also noted that the allegations are already in the public domain and require decisive action by the anti-graft agency.

The development further deepens the ongoing public dispute between Dangote’s refinery operations and the regulatory authority responsible for overseeing Nigeria’s midstream and downstream petroleum sector.
