Countries That Can Enter the U.S. Visa-Free for Up to 90 Days

Here’s a rephrased version of the text:

Citizens of 43 countries can now travel to the United States for up to 90 days without needing a visa, thanks to the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). This program allows for short visits for tourism or business, but travelers must first receive authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), an online system run by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that determines eligibility.

To qualify, travelers must apply for ESTA before boarding their flight and cannot exceed the 90-day stay limit. Countries participating in the VWP include the United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and others. Nations such as Nigeria and India are not part of the program.

However, even citizens of VWP countries are not eligible for ESTA if they:

  1. Visited or were present in North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, or Yemen on or after March 1, 2011.
  2. Visited or were present in Cuba on or after January 12, 2021.
  3. Hold dual nationality with Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, or Syria.

If any of these conditions apply, you must apply for a standard B-1/B-2 visitor visa instead.
