In a statement issued on Wednesday, the corporation said the initiative is designed to eliminate the heavy burden of upfront payment, enabling working Nigerians to easily acquire the digital devices they need for productivity and economic advancement.

CrediCorp noted that with the world increasingly dependent on digital connectivity, devices such as smartphones and laptops have become essential tools for learning, earning and mobility. The agency highlighted that a smartphone can grant a young graduate access to job opportunities and remote work, while a laptop can enhance the efficiency of civil servants, entrepreneurs and small business owners.

“These devices are no longer luxury items; they are everyday instruments of progress,” the statement read.

The launch follows the successful completion of the programme’s pilot phase. During the first rollout, more than 1,000 Nigerians were able to acquire smartphones through affordable credit, many for the first time. According to the corporation, the pilot phase recorded impressive repayment rates and strong demand, underscoring the national need for accessible device financing.

Under the new expanded phase, CrediCorp is targeting over 15,000 Nigerians who will be able to access smartphones and laptops tailored to boost their productivity, income potential and digital inclusion.

To execute the programme at scale, CrediCorp is partnering with E-Finance Company as one of its Participating Financial Institutions, with Credlock providing the technological backbone. Credlock’s intelligent device-collateral system ensures secure, efficient and responsible access to credit, allowing applicants to seamlessly apply for, finance and collect devices without upfront costs.

CrediCorp’s Managing Director, Uzoma Nwagba, described the initiative as a continuation of the organisation’s mission to expand access to consumer credit across multiple sectors.

“From mobility to renewable energy, we have seen how transformative access to credit can be. Nigerians are hard-working and ambitious; they simply need fair pathways to acquire the tools that move them forward. Digital devices now sit at the centre of learning, earning, and productivity,” Nwagba said.

Also speaking, Credlock CEO Dayo poliFabayo said everyday devices hold the power to transform lives.

“Every smartphone represents the potential to learn, work, and access opportunity. The device in someone’s hand can be the bridge to their financial future. Working with CrediCorp and E-Finance allows us to scale that vision to millions of Nigerians,” Fabayo stated.

CrediCorp said the initiative aligns with its broader mandate to deepen consumer credit access and improve the quality of life nationwide, supporting a more connected, productive and future-ready Nigeria.
