As part of the ongoing membership revalidation drive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Umana Okon Umana, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the party by revalidating his membership at the ward level.

The revalidation exercise took place on Wednesday, August 6, at Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Inyangeti, in Ndiya Ward, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, in accordance with the directive of the party’s state leader and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, who instructed all party members to return to their respective wards for the process.

The event drew a large crowd of APC supporters, stakeholders, and community leaders who welcomed Mr. Umana and described his participation as a significant boost to party unity and grassroots mobilisation.

In his address, Mr. Umana commended the high turnout, calling it a clear demonstration of growing support for the APC and confidence in Governor Eno’s leadership.

“We must do all we can to support our son, who by the grace of God is the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he stated. “This massive turnout is a great show of solidarity with the governor.”

Mr. Umana also used the occasion to call for strengthened party cohesion ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging his full backing for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno’s second-term ambitions.

He reaffirmed his readiness to collaborate with Governor Eno to advance the interests of the APC and drive development in Akwa Ibom State.

Notable attendees at the event included Ward Chairman Mr. Atte Asuquo, former Nsit Ubium LGA Chairman Hon. Ini Orok, Hon. Inyang Unyah, and Engr. Alfred Emmanuel, along with several prominent indigenes of the area.

The APC membership revalidation exercise, officially flagged off by Governor Eno during a recent visit to the party’s state secretariat in Uyo, is part of a broader nationwide effort to update party records and prepare for digital integration ahead of future political activities.
