Nigeria’s fintech industry leaders are intensifying efforts to boost local software development and digital innovation ahead of DevTribe 2025, a flagship developer-focused conference organised by the Fintech Association of Nigeria (FintechNGR).

Slated for August 23, 2025, at The Zone, Gbagada, Lagos, the one-day event will bring together software engineers, tech founders, corporate leaders, and regulators for technical workshops, mentorship sessions, and ecosystem-wide collaboration.

In a statement released Thursday, President of FintechNGR, Ade Bajomo, highlighted the conference as part of a strategic effort to close critical skills gaps and deepen Nigeria’s innovation capacity in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

“This is not just about gathering developers,” Bajomo said.

“It’s about investing in the people building the future of fintech and equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities they need to thrive.”

With the theme “Trends, Tools & Tech Stacks for Modern Developers,” DevTribe 2025 will spotlight emerging technologies and hands-on practices in areas such as artificial intelligence, secure coding, and cloud-native development.

Yetunde Adesanya, Executive Secretary of FintechNGR, explained that the initiative seeks to democratise access to career growth and innovation in the fintech space.

“We’re creating a space where talent and opportunity can meet, regardless of background or experience level,” Adesanya said.

The conference agenda includes keynote speeches, lightning talks, a developer career fair, and community-led breakout sessions. It also aims to foster meaningful dialogue between startups, talent accelerators, and policymakers on the future of financial technology in Nigeria.

DevTribe 2025 is a cornerstone of FintechNGR’s broader commitment to building a sustainable, inclusive tech workforce and positioning Nigeria at the forefront of the continent’s digital transformation.
