Findings from filling stations across Abuja on Thursday show that NNPCL now sells petrol at ₦930 per litre, down from the previous ₦945 per litre. The new price was confirmed at NNPCL outlets along Kubwa Expressway, Gwarimpa, Wuse Zones 4 and 6, and other stations within the Federal Capital Territory.
Other marketers have also adjusted their pump prices. Ranoil stations in Gwarimpa now dispense PMS at ₦935 per litre, down from ₦940. MRS and AP (Ardova) filling stations in Abuja are currently selling between ₦930 and ₦935 per litre.
The price reduction follows significant drops in ex-depot rates by Dangote Refinery and major depots such as Pinnacle and Aiteo, which lowered their wholesale prices by at least ₦10, now selling at ₦846, ₦845, and ₦844 per litre, respectively, as of Thursday morning.
Speaking earlier, the spokesperson of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Ukadike, predicted that pump prices may fall further as the ongoing competition among petrol suppliers intensifies.
