The governor made the remarks on Tuesday during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Cubana Millennium City in Okpaman, Oshimili North Local Government Area. He was represented by the Deputy Governor, Monday Onyeme.
Oborevwori described the project as one that aligns with both the present needs and future aspirations of Delta State, noting that it perfectly reflects the vision of his administration’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.
“This proves something we already know—Delta State is open for business, open for investment, and ready for sustainable growth. Every project we support must align with the pillars of the M.O.R.E. Agenda, and Cubana Millennium City clearly fits that vision,” he said.
He added that the groundbreaking marked not just the beginning of a construction project, but “the birth of a new economic ecosystem,” one that would stimulate job creation, attract investment, and advance modern urban development in the state.
Oborevwori assured that the state government would continue to support responsible investors committed to enhancing prosperity and improving the well-being of citizens.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Cubana Group, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, said the Cubana Millennium City would evolve into a world-class urban community.
He described the development as a destination set to redefine lifestyle, hospitality, entertainment, and investment opportunities for the South and East regions.
According to him, the project aims to create a modern ecosystem where residents can live, work, relax, and thrive within the same environment.
Iyiegbu said the initiative represents a commitment to delivering smart homes, safe neighbourhoods, commercial zones, green spaces, and infrastructure built to support the ambitions of young Nigerians.
He added that the project would engage hundreds of workers during construction and thousands more after completion, significantly boosting Asaba’s standing as one of Nigeria’s rapidly growing urban centres.
